Day 1 - 8 Day Independent Wonders of Japan
Welcome to Japan!
Upon arrival into Tokyo, please make your own way to the starting point hotel. Take the evening to relax after your flight.
The most convenient way to travel from Haneda International Airport (HND) to Tokyo Central is by train or by monorail. The airport is also serviced by many 'Limousine Bus' services which offer shared shuttle bus service from around ¥1300 per person.
The best way to travel from Narita International Airport (NRT) to Tokyo Central is by the Narita Airport Express. The journey to most Tokyo stations takes approximately 1hr and the ticket costs ¥4070. The airport is also serviced by many 'Limousine Bus' services which offer shared shuttle buses from around ¥1300 per person.
Airport transfers are not included. Our transfer portal offers the option to book your airport transfers for an easier arrival experience (additional charges apply). Access to this portal will be available through your Traveller Hub once your booking is confirmed.
There are no scheduled activities today. If arriving prior to check-in time, which is usually from 2-3 pm, you are welcome to leave your luggage with hotel reception and explore your surroundings until check-in becomes available. Use this time to familiarise yourself with the hotel and rest before touring commences tomorrow.

This is one of our Independent Tours. On this package you will travel from city to city on your own, exploring at your own pace. We have arranged transportation in most cases and day tours for you to see the destination. Enjoy the time and flexibility to linger longer or pick up the pace and see as much as possible. You will be responsible for your luggage for the entirety of the trip. Please note that you will be required to walk to/from train stations. We recommend you use a small to medium size suitcase only to ensure you can manage the itinerary effectively.
Day 2 - Independent Wonders of Japan - Tokyo to Osaka - current
After breakfast at your hotel, make your own way to the pick up point for your full day guided tour of Tokyo (details provided with final documentation).
Today, you will enjoy a journey through Tokyo's iconic landmarks.
Begin with a serene stroll through the lush, tranquil grounds of Meiji Shrine, then drive past the buzzing districts of Akihabara, Ueno, and other must-see spots on your way to the elegant Imperial Palace's outer gardens.
Immerse yourself in the rich history of Asakusa, where you can explore ancient temples, shop for unique souvenirs, sip on traditional Matcha tea, and savor a delicious Japanese Izakaya lunch.
In the afternoon, ascend to the top of Tokyo Skytree for breathtaking, panoramic views from its 350th floor observation deck.
You will have the evening to spend at your leisure

Day 3 - Independent Wonders of Japan - Tokyo to Osaka - current
Today is yours to explore Tokyo. You may wish to explore independently, join our optional day tour to Nikko, or the Tsukiji Market tour.
Special Information
If Tsukiji Market Tour and Nikko World Heritage Day Tour are both selected, the Tsukiji Market Tour will be held the day after as long as no tours are booked for that day.
Day 4 - Independent Wonders of Japan - Tokyo to Osaka - current
Enjoy another day at leisure in one of the world's great cities. Spend the day exploring Tokyo, or join our optional tour to sacred Mt Fuji.
Special Information
If the Green Tea Ceremony and Mt Fuji Day Tour are both selected, the Green Tea Ceremony will be held the day prior as long as no tours are booked for that day.
Day 5 - Independent Wonders of Japan - Tokyo to Osaka - current
After breakfast, join the optional tour or head to the Shinjuku station to board the Shinkansen Bullet Train to Osaka. Experience travelling at up to 300 km per hour in comfort on your way to Osaka. On arrival at Shin Osaka station, take a short walk to your hotel.
This afternoon, immerse yourself in Japanese culture and experience Osaka like a local on this captivating evening walking tour. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, embark on a journey through the city's historic districts, including the former ghetto and the vibrant Red Light district. Your guide will provide fascinating insights into Osaka's rich history, heritage, and local traditions, offering a deeper understanding of this dynamic city.
As you wander through the backstreets, you'll discover quirky sites and hidden gems that are often overlooked by travellers. This tour takes you off the beaten path, allowing you to see a side of Osaka that many visitors miss. Day 7 - Independent Wonders of Japan - Tokyo to Osaka - current
Enjoy another day at leisure in Osaka. Spend the day exploring the city independently, or join our optional tour.
Day 8 - Independent Wonders - Hiroshima Extension
After breakfast today, embark on the extended journey to Hiroshima.
Hiroshima, a city of resilience, offers profound historical insights and stunning cultural landmarks, from the poignant Atomic Bomb Dome to the iconic Itsukushima Shrine. On arrival at Hiroshima Station, make your own way to your centrally located hotel. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Day 9 - Independent Wonders - Hiroshima Extension
After breakfast at your hotel, make your own way to Hiroshima Station to join your full day guided tour.
Embark on a captivating bus trip from Hiroshima Station to explore two UNESCO World Heritage sites, each offering a profound glimpse into Japan's history and culture. Begin your journey at the Atomic Bomb Dome, situated within Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. This solemn landmark serves as a poignant reminder of the horrors of nuclear warfare and the enduring message of peace it represents.
Next, travel to the enchanting Miyajima Island to visit the iconic Itsukushima Shrine. Famous for its striking red torii gate that seems to float gracefully on the sea, the shrine provides one of Japan's most breathtaking scenic views. Day 10 - Independent Wonders - Hiroshima Extension
After breakfast, make your own way back to Hiroshima Station for the shinkansen to Osaka. Today is a great chance to further explore what Osaka has to offer.
Osaka, Japan's vibrant culinary capital, blends traditional charm with modern attractions, from the majestic Osaka Castle and bustling streets of Dotonbori to offbeat gems like the quirky Cup Noodles Museum and the retro Shinsekai district.

Day 11 - Wonders of Japan - Osaka departure no flights
Today marks the end of your incredible tour through Japan.

Departure and check out: There are several ways to travel from your hotel to either Osaka International Airport (ITM) or Kansai International Airport (KIX), from shuttle buses to trains and taxis. Transport to the airports can cost between 250 Yen to 21,000 Yen depending on the form of transport you choose. Your Tour Leader will be able to assist you arrange the most convenient way to the airport on the last day of the trip.
Travellers will be departing at various times throughout the day. Standard hotel check-out is from 10am-12pm. You are welcome to leave your luggage at the hotel reception and spend your final moments of free time exploring the area or alternatively please speak with hotel staff if you would like to extend your check-out time. Please note this service is subject to availability and will likely come at an additional cost.
